You may participate in the Common Good economy to any extent you choose. You can't help but profit by participating.

Open an account.
Sign up for an account at your local Common Good Bank™. A free ATM card, doubling as a Local Credit Card, comes with the account. Participating merchants offer a percentage rebate to members of the bank, whether you use your Local Credit Card or pay by check. Half the rebate goes to you, the customer, half to benefit the community. Currently, in our experimental democratic economy in Ashfield, Massachusetts, the average rebate is %. Click for details.

Accept payments by Local Credit Card.
You can accept payment by Local Credit Card whether or not you own a business: for reimbursement, tag sales, or other occasional transactions. Simply enter the amount and account number on your touch-tone phone.

Offer a Rebate.
If you own a business, you are encouraged to offer a rebate of 2% or more to members of the Common Good Bank™. The bank handles all calculations and rewards your community spirit by promoting your company. You benefit by increased business, an overall boost to the local economy, and the satisfaction of having contributed to the common good. Click for details.

Additional fees may be charged for transactions harmful to the common good.

Wealth management
Ultimately, anyone with assets or annual income greater than 100 times the median is expected to apply the excess toward the Common Good. The bank's profits and assets are used to serve those most in need of assistance.
